St Paul’s Cathedral

Admire Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece, built after the Great Fire of London in 1666. The only cathedral in England in the English baroque style, the only one with a dome and the first cathedral to be built after the Reformation. The site has been a place of Christian worship since 604AD and the present cathedral is the fourth on the site it has a special place in our Christian history. The Cathedral hosted the funeral of Winston Churchill, the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Princess of Wales and Queen Elizabeth II’s silver, golden and diamond and platinum jubilee celebratory services It also symbolised the resilience of London when it survived the Blitz in World War II as everything around it was flattened. It is also possible to include the climb the dome to the Golden gallery for views over London for groups who wish to do that.

Tower of London

The oldest part of His Majesty’s Palace and Fortress, the Tower of London was built for William the Conqueror in the 1070s. It has been a Royal residence, a prison and it is still the place where the crown jewels are kept and we will see them. The only prisoners today are the ravens. It is also the place where two kings of England were murdered and three queens beheaded. Hear fascinating stories of English history.

Westminster Abbey

The stunningly beautiful gothic architecture of Westminster Abbey is the setting for coronations, royal weddings and funerals. A place of Christian worship for over 750 years, the burial place of monarchs and many other distinguished people and a fine example of magnificent gothic architecture.

Highlights of the National Galley

The national collection of Western European art from the mid 13th century to the early 1900’s. Most of the greatest artists of each period are represented, in many cases by some of their greatest works.
